Fauré Theme and variations in C-sharp minor, Op. 73

Written in 1895, this is one of Fauré's most extended compositions for the piano, with a performance time of about 15 minutes. It shows clear influence of Schumann's Symphonic Studies, albeit in a move characteristic of the composer, the loudest and more powerful variation is not last, but next to last.
