Dvořák Piano Quartet no. 2, Op. 87

Antonin Dvorak composed his second Piano Quartet, Op. 87, in 1889. The work, in the key of E flat major, was written fourteen years after his first piano quartet. The first documented performance took place in Frankfurt in 1890. Simrock, who had spent a long time trying to persuade Dvorak to compose this piece, published the work that same year.
